New class being offered”Ballet Toning” taught by Brittney Wassermann
Ballet toning uses the elongating principals of dance conditioning creating a total body work out that will shape your glutes and thighs while burning fat. This class uses the barre to perform small isometric movements for the body followed by stretching to elongate the muscles. Ballet toning utilizes techniques from all forms of dance and also pilates. You don’t need any prior dance experience to get a great work out.
This class will be offered Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 beginning January 8th You may try your first class for $8.00! The regular rate will be $10.00 per class Regular exercise/yoga or dance attire may be worn. Please,no black rubber soled footwear! Julie was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her training began at three years old with Nina Marlow School of Ballet under the direction of Nina Marlow and Rena Becker. Her classical and contemporary training continued at Master Ballet Academy under the direction of Slawomir and Irena Wozinak. Julie has attended summer intensive programs with American Ballet Theater Alabama, Ballet Arizona, Joffrey Midwest, Master Ballet Academy, Ballet Austin, and State Street Ballet. She danced professionally with Ballet Tucson and State Street Ballet. During that time, Julie performed in many classical and contemporary ballets such as Gisele, Swan Lake, and Graduation Ball. Julie will be dancing with Menlowe Ballet starting in the fall and is very excited to be surrounded by a wonderful arts community in the Bay Area.
Julie started teaching and assisting ballet classes at fifteen years old. Over the past 7 years, she has taught dancers age three to thirteen. While in Santa Barbara, she taught at two different studios, Sino West Performing Arts and State Street Ballet. She taught technique ballet classes to kids and adults, as well as stretch and strengthening classes. Julie loves teaching and sharing her knowledge of ballet. She is very passionate about ballet and loves to share this passion with the young artists of the future. Julie is very excited to make the Bay Area her new home and to be a part of the Professional Ballet School staff.
